    • Social Justice Services serves men and women transitioning out of prison and back into the community through a network of six residential reentry centers operated under contracts with federal, state, and county agencies. The division also runs a residential program for young adults with complex clinical needs.
    • Community Strategies supports adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities to live as independently as possible through a range of community-based residential options offering structure in a caring, home-like environment, as well as day programs.
    • The Crime and Justice Institute is a national-scale consulting practice that works with elected officials, justice system practitioners, policy makers, and thought leaders to effect significant reforms to promote safety and justice.

    The Budgets and Finance Specialists will work in CRJ's South End Administrative office in which they will be reporting to the Director of Budgets and Financial Systems.  The F&BS will provide budget and contract support to CRJ's budget with a particular focus on our SJS and CJI divisions, as well as maintain our Fiscal System and website. 


    • Perform monthly Financial Report reviews and analyses for CRJ with particular focus on our SJS, CJI, divisions Advancement, and all Admin cost centers.
    • Maintain various parts of the Financial System including but not limited to Approval Groups, Validation Rules and other aspects of the system.
    • Maintain CRJ Fiscal Website to ensure all information is current including but not limited to Chart of Accounts, Policies and Procedures and forms on the website.
    • Learn and become proficient in Jet Reports to be able to develop reports for internal analysis.
    • During the annual budget preparation process work at the direction of the Manager of Budgets including but not limited to prepping the budget system, generating reports, reviewing and analyzing budget data in the system.
    • Support the implementation process of the AwardVision (Contracts) module after implementation maintain oversight of Award Vision.
    • Monitor financial data related to grants and contracts and reconcile payments and receivables for contracts related to our CJI division.
    • Prepare appropriate monthly journal entries and reconciliations for month end close
    • Complete ad hoc projects as requested by the Director of Fiscal Operations and VP/CFO.


    • Minimum of 2 years experience in accounting and financial analysis from either a “For Profit” or Large NFP environment.  
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
    • Strong financial systems orientation
    • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite ( Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
    • Excellent  communication skills
    • Demonstrated professionalism and discretion when working with Operations Staff
    • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
